Masks - Evidence for the ongoing use of masks in the healthcare setting

Masks can effectively improve epidemic control if their use has a high uptake (1), for example when all staff and patients are required to use masks and/or respirators, especially during peak times for respiratory diseases transmission when the healthcare setting is a high-risk area with infectious patients encountering healthy patients and clinicians and their staff.
